Aligners move teeth gradually using a series of removable trays. The clinical result depends heavily on wear time, which makes this one of the few treatments where the patient genuinely controls the outcome.
Digital scan, photographs, and X-rays to plan movement.
A series of trays
Each moves teeth a small amount; changed on a set schedule.
Wear time
Typically most of the day and night. Under-wearing extends treatment.
Reviews
Periodic checks to confirm teeth are tracking as planned.
Refinement
Additional trays are common near the end.
Retainers
Not optional. Teeth drift back without them.
What aligners are and are not good for
Aligners handle many crowding, spacing, and rotation problems well. Complex bite corrections and some skeletal issues are better served by other approaches or by an orthodontist, and we will say so rather than attempt them.
Alignment before cosmetic work often means less cosmetic work: moving a tooth into position can remove the need to disguise its position with material.
